Julia + Rob
Last summer, Julia and Rob had an elegant Welkinweir Estate wedding. Their wedding day was a joyful celebration filled with emotional moments. As a documentary wedding photographer, it was dream to photograph their love in a setting as stunning as Welkinweir Estate!
Julia and Rob hosted their wedding ceremony and reception at Welkinweir Estate. Because they wanted to spend time enjoying cocktail hour with their family and friends, they opted for a first look. The first look gave them the opportunity to see one another before the ceremony. Additionally, we were able to take most of the formal portraits early in the day, allowing them to enjoy their cocktail hour.
***As a wedding photographer, I’m not specifically for or against a first look. Absolutely, I believe having a first look on your wedding day is a very personal decision. Nonetheless, if you’re hosting a ceremony and reception at one venue, it’s definitely worth consideration. A first look frees up their timeline and subsequently allows you to enjoy parts of your day you might have otherwise missed.**
For the ceremony, they utilized one of the many outdoor ceremony locations at Welkinweir Estate offers. The garden space felt was private and calming; an undoubtedly perfect spot for a summer wedding. Their cocktail hour took place directly outside of the estate, overlooking the pond. A perfectly decorated and spacious tent held their wedding reception, a celebration filled with great food, great music, and lots of dancing.
Julia and Rob’s wedding at Welkinweir Estate was incredible. I’m thankful I had the opportunity be their wedding photographer! If you (or someone you love) are looking for a photographer please contact me here or at meg@megbrock.com
